They called me Cloudy, not because my favorite color is a particular shade of blue, but because since I was eight my head seemed permanently stuck among the clouds.

I was born in a tiny village lost among the mountains of Piedmont, Italy.
Although having more trees than people around might sound boring, the fresh mountain air inspired me to think, write, and get lost in the boundless world of imagination.

Don’t let my daydreaming fool you though! Despite spending a good chunk of my childhood with my head in the clouds, my grades at school were pretty good, even without hitting the books too hard.

Leaving my cozy village, I moved to the bustling city of Turin to chase my university dreams.
The crowded streets and unfamiliar faces initially overwhelmed me, but while studying I got to know more about the city and I fell in love with its vibes. It felt like unlocking a new level in my life!
School wasn’t only textbooks anymore: I turned cafes into study spots, and Turin’s rich history became the coolest backdrop imaginable.

Life was epic! I felt I could conquer the world until COVID-19 showed up and destroyed all my plans.
Suddenly, I was forced to pack up and say goodbye to my beautiful life in Turin: the city that was my second home and the friends who became like a family. Everything vanished in the emptiness.

Back to my village, where it all began, felt different. The familiar streets held memories, but my future seemed like ashes.
Inspired by the legendary phoenix, I launched a new project: a podcast named “Disagio Quotidiano” (“Daily Discomfort“).
I wrote, recorded, and learned everything I could about podcasting.
It became my playground for creativity, where I discovered a new Pietro, stronger and braver.

Turning 30, 2021 was a wake-up call. It was time to grab my dreams and go for it!
So, with a backpack full of courage and a pinch of sadness in my heart, I said goodbye for the second time to my cozy village. Amsterdam was the beginning of a new adventure or an adventure for a new beginning.

Meeting people from all over the world felt like unwrapping a surprise gift every time. Each conversation held a new story.
English, that school subject I wasn’t exactly a star in, became key to unlocking friendships and experiences.
I learned that the world is so much bigger than I thought, and it’s full of amazing opportunities.

Two years later, my brain was exploding with memories, like a backpack overflowing with souvenirs. And I was tired of carrying it.
Time to hit pause. Rewind this crazy journey and figure out who I am after all this.

I’m still the same Cloudy, a little seasoned (hopefully a little wiser too!), but with a bigger hunger than ever for life, thinking, and writing.
