Popworks Ad Copy Rewriting

Popworks big adverstisment

REimagining Popworks ad copy: a Copywriting exercise.

Dear Beyonders,

We’ve all been there: Stuck in the middle of a YouTube video, waiting for that skip button to finally appear.
Doesn’t it feel like those ads last forever?

But on those moments, have you ever stare at an ad, wishing you were the one behind it?”
Thinking: “I could definitely do it better!”?

Well, that’s exactly how I felt today!
I love taking existing ad scripts and try to rewrite them. Hopefully better!
It’s like adding a sprinkle of my own personality to make them stand out from the crowd!

It might not turns into a real ad yet, but it’s a challenging and fun exercise for your creativity.

Are you ready?
Let’s rewrite this ad together!

Popworks Ad Copy

Popworks Ad – Youtube

Popworks are crunchy, puffy, tasty, and never fried!

Popworks, They just work!

This 7-second video is full of energy!

It hits viewers straight away with a knockout ending that perfectly highlights Popworks’ unique selling point: crunchy, never-fried tastiness. Popworks delivers a satisfying crunch without the added fat and guilt.

Although the tagline is catchy, the overall copy could be more personal.
Right now it feels too generic to me, applicable to any similar product.

The final tagline feels like the culmination of multiple attempts at catching the essence of PopWorks.
Do they work? Probably yes; but still they make the overall experience slightly heavy, as a delicious late-night sandwich that might keep you up with heartburn.

To write the perfect ad, I have to know more about this product.
Remember; knowing your subject is crucial for writing.

In short, Popworks are crafted using a similar technique to popcorn!
They combine simple ingredients with water, then release a burst of heat and pressure to create their light and airy texture. If you want to know more, check out the official Popworks page.

rewriting Popworks Ad Copy

Now that I have enough elements, let’s add a dash of creativity and rewrite the ad.

I followed the AIDA model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) to ensure the message is structured in a way that in order:

  1. Grab the attention
  2. Trigger interest
  3. creates desire
  4. Induce action
AIDA Template

I highly recommend downloading this AIDA template and using it to write your ads.
It gives your copy a powerful structure, making your message clear and effective.

Now, before proceeding with the revisited version, here are some key points to highlight:

After many hours, this is what I ended up with.

Close your eyes, press play, and tell me what pops into your mind in the comment section below!

(Crunchy sound)

Wait! Is This Fried?

No! It’s Popped!

(Mmm sound)

Popworks, They Just Work!

Final thoughts

What a creative trip!
We dove into Popworks, exploring what makes them pop, literally and figuratively!

At the end of the day, Copywriters and DJs are not so different. We both remix our tracks to get the crowd moving!

While the original copy is already punchy, writing a new versions is worth a try! It’s like adding a new twist to a classic recipe. It’s not a competition, it’s just another way to play with creativity.

I want to thank you if you made it until this point! I hope you enjoyed this journey.
